Creating a Content lifecycle management for a popular media gain/ Requirements of the Indian Media Giant
India’s leading media giant faced a major challenge in managing its vast contract lifecycle processes. They were managing the entire contract lifecycle through paper-based processes. And with multiple parties involved, it was becoming a complex affair as they struggled with inefficiencies, delayed approvals, and a lack of visibility across multiple stages.
The media industry leader wanted to streamline their approach and create a seamless contract lifecycle management product that would replace those 300-page contract processes into online contracts where all the stages of the contract lifecycle would be precisely defined and carried out. From paper to digital, they assigned this task to us at Momentum91, and we designed and developed a sophisticated Contract Lifecycle Management well-organizing their entire contract management process.

Problem Statement – Challenges the media conglomerate was facing
Before partnering with us, the media giant was carrying out all the processes on paper. There were like 300+ contracts to be managed, and everything was kept in written records. With multiple stakeholders and departments involved, the process was becoming slower, potential errors in different clauses, and difficult tracking revisions and approvals of the contracts. Legal teams, vendors, and business partners had to collaborate together, and the parties found it difficult, leading to delays, missing deadlines, and security concerns in sensitive contract clauses.
From Digital to Paper: How Momentum91 revolutionized the entire CLM?
A Contract Lifecycle Management system is generally divided into 6 key stages – Authoring, Redlining, Approval, Execution, and Post-execution. The media conglomerate wanted to digitalize these 6 stages into the CLM. Thus, our team at Momentum91 embarked on a comprehensive journey to build their CLM software, which would comply with their unique needs and workflows.
Moreover, we had to connect with the media conglomerate legal team and business teams to devise the flow of how each contract is taken care of. Taking a contract smoothly from creation through approval, execution and post-execution stages, all through a CLM, where parties could easily collaborate, was our task. By collaborating with the media giant’s internal teams and their legal experts, we were able to create a solution custom-built to their needs and built for scalability.
Designing & engineering the software
Our team focused on delivering a solution that was both intuitive and robust. The design process prioritized ease of use for a diverse group of users, from legal teams to business stakeholders to production partners to talent.
We made sure that the software could handle multiple contract types—vendor, talent, stakeholders, production partners, etc.—and provided seamless integration with existing systems. From an engineering perspective, we built a cloud-based, scalable solution that could handle thousands of simultaneous contract processes, ensuring security and compliance at every stage.
The key features
The CLM system we developed for the media conglomerate came equipped with key features that significantly strengthened contract management efficiency, including
- Contract Templates
Customizable templates for different contract types.
- Real-time Redlining
Allowing multiple stakeholders to suggest changes and track revisions.
- Automated Approvals
Ensuring smooth workflows with automatic notifications and approvals.
- Version Control
To track all changes and maintain accurate records.
- Advanced Security
Built-in encryption and user permissions to ensure compliance and protect sensitive information.
Working with number of parties & the challenges involved
The development process involved close collaboration between Indian media giant’s internal teams, including the legal department with 55 professionals, business stakeholders, and external vendors. We engaged with four primary partners who provided necessary integrations with third-party systems, ensuring a smooth and cohesive experience.
One of the key challenges we faced was migrating their vast library of contracts into the new system while confirming accuracy and completeness. Additionally, aligning the software with their diverse set of contract categories and internal workflows required a high level of customization. Our team worked closely with stakeholders to ensure that the solution met their unique needs while remaining scalable and easy to use.
